DESCRIPTION:Collaborative Learning Student Series – Electives \nThe Collaborative Learning Student Series Electives will take place on various days and times throughout the year.  Many of the activities have limited registration and learners are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot.  Registration will be open 2 weeks prior to the event. \nProgram: “My Disease Will Never Define me…”: A session exploring Empathy \nThis 2-hour interactive activity uses a patient story to explore the concepts of empathy. As learners engage in the material (in both large and small group activities) they are encouraged to put themselves in the shoes of the patient. \nObjectives: \n\nAcquire an appreciation of patient’s perspectives while providing care.\nDescribe a tool to use for creating empathy in individual and team interactions with a patient.\nDiscuss strategies that support empathetic interaction with patients.\n\nRegistration: Click here to register. \nAccreditation: \nThese learning activities are approved by the University of Toronto\, Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare & Education (CACHE) for IPE credit.
