DESCRIPTION:Collaborative Learning Student Series – Electives \nThe Collaborative Learning Student Series Electives will take place on various days and times throughout the year.  Many of the activities have limited registration and learners are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot.  Registration will be open 2 weeks prior to the event. \nProgram: EDIA and Collaborative Practice – An Exploratory In-Person Conversation (Part 3 of 3) \nThrough a weekly\, facilitated dialogue\, this IPE elective will focus on exploring how equity\, diversity\, inclusion\, and accessibility (EDIA) concepts and systems of oppression (e.g. ableism amongst others) and inequities (e.g. power and hierarchy) relate to and surface in collaborative practice (i.e. on the team). \n\nThis will be a dynamic and participatory in-person experience.  It will take place at our St. Michael’s site.  This is not a lecture about EDIA.\nThis is a 3-part session with in-between activities.\nTuesdays: March 25\, April 01 and 08\, 2025 @ 12:00pm-1:30pm EDT (in-person).\n\nLearners must be able to attend all three (3) sessions. \nObjectives: During the elective\, participants will: \n\nEngage in discussion and reflection of how equity\, diversity\, inclusion\, and accessibility (EDIA) concepts and systems of oppression (e.g. ableism) relate to and surface in collaborative practice (i.e. in teamwork);\nCritically examine and challenge assumptions about what it means to be productive\, work as part of a team\, and how structural and systemic inequities (e.g. power and hierarchy) play a significant role when interacting with others.\n\nRegistration: To register\, or for more information\, please contact Robyn Davies @ robyn.davies@unityhealth.to \nAccreditation: \nThese learning activities are approved by the University of Toronto\, Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare & Education (CACHE) for IPE credit.  This is an immersion level activity that meets 2 IPE elective requirements. \nADDITIONAL DETAILS: \nThe goal is to provide a space for dialogue and an opportunity to examine what learners are seeing in relation to EDIA in their current practice setting as it relates to the team. The sessions will support critical reflection on what learners are observing\, challenge assumptions embedded in current structures and practices\, and inspire changes in how learners move forward as a learner and collaborator.
