Training Exemption

Yes, exemptions are available for staff, physicians and learners who have Epic experience in the last 12 months at another approved health care organization in a similar role with a related patient population and/or duties to the ones performed at Unity Health. A list of approved health care organizations can be found in the attestation form. If your previous health care organization is NOT listed in the attestation, please note the organization and the EPR team will review your request.

The attestation is located in Elevate, which you can access via the SRS, “My Requirements”(see: Registering for training tab). If you meet the criteria listed in the attestation, please submit it and proceed to the end user proficiency assessment/quiz (EUPA). You’ll have two chances to achieve 80% or higher on the EUPA, otherwise you’ll need to complete training. You must also complete the User Settings Lab.

Information on USL and exemption

  • Please review and submit the exemption attestation in Elevate. This video provides step-by-step guidance. If you meet the criteria, proceed directly to the end user proficiency assessment/quiz (EUPA) and login lab, both available in Elevate.
  • You’ll have two attempts to score 80% or higher on the EUPA, or you’ll need to complete training. If you successfully complete the EUPA, please register for a User Settings Lab. This lab will be offered across a variety of dates and times. You MUST register for a user settings lab to complete your Epic Systems training requirements. (see: Registering for training tab).
  • Once you complete your Exemption Attestation, click into the Search bar at the top of your Elevate page and search for ‘USL’. From the results, select ‘User Settings Lab (FOR EXEMPTED PROVIDERS)’. Find and select a session and click Enroll.

  • Residents and Fellows who attend instructor-led training will complete their EUPA and USL during their training session(s).
