Collaborative Learning Student Series – Electives

These 1.5 – 2 hour sessions take place on various days and times throughout the winter. Many of the activities have limited registration and learners are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot. Registration will be open 2 weeks prior to the event.

Objectives:

• Define and Describe terminology related to biological sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender expression, and gender identity
• Explore how systems of oppression related to sexuality and gender impact health outcomes at the structural/institutional, interpersonal, and internal levels in the context of healthcare
• Identify strategies that can be implemented at the structural/institutional, interpersonal, and internal levels in healthcare to enable patients/clients/families/communities as partners in care and integrate their perspective in my (and my team’s) work
