Sunrise Clinical Manager - Nursing

Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) is the health information system that is used at the health centre for timely and effective clinical order entry and real-time electronic documentation. It is applicable to student who uses electronic patient record during their placement only. Please complete the modules according to your role.

If you return to St. Joe’s for another clinical placement within the six month, you are not required to repeat Sunrise training.

Clinical Instructors: Clinical instructors are required to attend St. Joe’s Sunrise 4-hour in class training. It includes e-learning modules and practice scenario with support of our Clinical Informatics Educator. St. Joe’s has adopted the “train the trainer” approach for clinical student groups with the expectation that after receiving Sunrise training, Clinical Instructors would then provide the computer training to their students. The Education Coordinator will book the computer room and notify Clinical Instructor of the date, time and location of the room booking for the student training.

Preceptored Nursing Students: Preceptored nursing students will have completed all the e-learning modules 3 days prior to their placement start date as stated in the mandatory onboarding requirement. They will have their hands-on training on the unit with the continued support of their preceptor.
